Greater Zion's Mission is to effectively change and enhance lives by helping individuals of all ages reach their full potential and become positive role models for their families and communities, one soul at a time, through unconditional love, spiritual love, spiritual guidance and support, training, and education.
According to the recordings of the late Pastor Lillie A. Moore, in her own hand, Greater Zion Deliverance Tabernacle, Inc. was officially organized in October 1985 and the first service was held in her home in South Ozone Park. In attendance were “the original twelve”. They met and had services in her home for about eight weeks. There were even two Sunday school classes. Love offerings totaling $15,000 were given to Pastor Moore for a building. They found and purchased a small red building at 195-20 99th Avenue in Hollis, Queens. Not a day goes by that we don’t remember the countless souls that were affected by the ministry of the late Pastor Lillie A. Moore. Many were delivered from the bondage of drugs, alcohol, depression, suicide, insanity, lust, fornication, adultery, homosexuality, and such by the power of God through his servant, Lillie A. Moore. Pastor Moore finished her work and went home to be with the Lord on March 5, 1991. Her work and labor of service will live on in and through us and those whom she touched and ministered to. She is now seated in the grandstands, among the “great cloud of witnesses”, rooting for us. Greater Zion has developed into a full-service ministry, and our mission is to effectively change and enhance lives by helping individuals of all ages reach their full potential and become positive role models for their families and communities, one soul at a time, through unconditional love, spiritual guidance, support, training and education. Greater Zion recognizes the importance of a firm foundation, and that is why we will always honor our Founder and the work that she has done

. In June 1991, the Lord called Prophetess Barbara Coutryer to become Pastor of Greater Zion Deliverance Tabernacle, Inc. The ministry grew and flourished under the anointing that God placed on her life as she was intimately involved in all aspects of the ministry. In June 2000, under Pastor Barbara’s leadership, Greater Zion moved to the current location on 175-30 Liberty Avenue in Jamaica, Queens. As the Pastor of Greater Zion she believed in personally touching the lives of every single member with prayer, birthday cards, flowers and gifts, notes of encouragement, phone calls, recognition and especially love. Pastor Barbara Coutryer completed her work and was called home in June of 2012.
. In September of 2012, Pastors Edward and Vanessa were appointed to the offices of Senior and Co-Pastor of Greater Zion Deliverance Tabernacle, Inc. Bishop & Co-Pastor White have continued the work of Greater Zion and their work in the kingdom of God. They serve the Lord and Greater Zion faithfully, continuing with counseling and personal expressions of love to countless people. Bishop and Co-Pastor White stand on Greater Zion’s foundation of prayer, fostering deliverance through teaching, guidance, and the commitment to see all come to the full knowledge and acceptance of Jesus Christ.
